Description

Well, I couldn't just leave those poor lost guys out in the desert just to die, so here is the rest of the story. Our four stranded desert travelers were just about to start walking to find some help, when an ancient vehicle rolled up over the horizon and pulled up to where they were stranded. An old timer jumped out of the vehicle as nimbly as a teenager and walked over to them. He had their dilema sized up quick as a wink. He had some water with him and offered it to them to put in their pickup. Luckily, the engine hadn't seized up on them. It fired up after a few cranks with the starter. Once it was running, they slowly poured the water into the radiator as the old timer directed them to. He explained that cold water in a hot engine like that could crack the block or warp the head. After the truck ran for a few minutes, it decided to behave itself and cooled down enough to where they felt they could drive it again. They were stuck in the sand so the old timer produced a chain and hooked his car up to their pickup. With him pulling with his car and three of the guys pushing the pickup, they got it back out onto more solid footing. The old timer led the way out of the desert because not only had these four chuckle berries gotten stranded, they had gotten themselves hopelessly lost as well. They drove for several hours over barely visible trails before getting back to a main highway. They stopped and thanked the old guy over and over again for helping them. He gave them some gas to make sure they could get to the next town. They tried to pay him but he wouldn't hear of it. He told them he was just glad he had decided to check that part of his ranch that day and found them before they had tried walking out into that desert. It was then they realized they probably wouldn't have survived if he hadn't found them when he did. Now they had a great story to tell their grandchildren. Thank you for taking a peek! Your support is greatly appreciated!
