Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

I was a bit slow when first looking at this pic but once I came out of my shell I could see the beauty. The needles make a good point of interest!!

These were pretty rare in London, until I brought back a few dozen from a fishing trip in 1983, you can see scores of them now around the docklands hehehe, one of my claims to fame I suppose. Nicely captured Andrea!

These little chaps look great I didn't realise there were two types.

I agree with jayfar :)

Neato patterns on those little escargots, Andrea. Not surprisingly, our snails are not endowed with such lovely artwork.

Performance art by two hipster snails perhaps? A lovely image. The crisis du jour here in the colonies is the discovery in Texas of the giant African land snail (Achatina fulica) which are about the size of the palm of your hand. In typical American fashion they have been described as deadly, invasive and carriers of meningitis. But think of the escargot.

Very beautiful! I found a large colony of snails in my front garden yesterday. Many were given flying lessons, and the rest were left with a not-pleasant dinner, I'm afraid...I have no tolerance for molluscs in the garden!

You're right, Andrea - nature itself creates its own artworks and you caught it!! Good shot!! :o)
