Description

Brixton Windmill (aka Ashby's Mill) was built in 1816 and operated under wind-power till 1862, producing stoneground wholemeal flour. To those not familiar with the Brixton area, they might be suprised that this windmill actually exists there. I last saw this on a school trip a long time ago and seeing it again was certainly a pleasure! They occasionally have mini tours inside the windmill which I was fortunate to get a place on when (you usually have to book to guarantee a tour). The tour is free but a donation is encouraged, and souvenirs are on offer too! Original 2767x3225 (30 Photo Stitch) Thanks for viewing!!
