Description

I read once that, geologically speaking, the Kennet was an older river than the Thames but, these days, it is a tributary of the latter. It was also heavily canalized during the early industrial revolution and has many side channels in Reading that once led to wharves for the many industries that once flourished in the town. These days, it is a pleasant route through the town for narrow boats and, in many places, makes for a haven away from the bustle of the commercial heart of the town just a short distance away. I took this on a fairly grey day and the resultant photo was fairly colourless - so I made it fully monochrome and it looked so much better. ------------------------------------------ Original Photograph 9 May 2013

Love the BW! Sometimes you can see details you may miss with color as the color can, at times, be distracting.
