This is a montana type clematis, which in theory needs no pruning! HAH!

Very similar to one I had, but not the same. I think your photo makes them look better than they really are! No pruning? Yeah right, not as long as you don't mind them taking over the entire neighborhood! Mine were very aggressive, like the creatures in Aliens, and I couldn't get rid of them fast enough, and getting rid of them was not easy!

So amazing to look at and it reminded me that some were so similar to this one, exhibited at your very own English flower show in Chelsea, this month - absolutely stunning specimens, did you have a chance to go and see the show? I saw it on TV of course and thought, I am proud to say, Australia did really well this year, hope you liked it also ... BB
