Description
Shea had all the goods on the ship unloaded, figuring they weren't going anywhere for some time to come. The Faearan merchants could deal with the distribution - if they wanted to. As long as he got paid, he didn't care what they did with the stuff. There was a car waiting for them, when they were done. They'd all packed what they could. The rest could be picked up whenever they got settled somewhere. Dervyn would make sure the ship was well-guarded. It sat on the first docking station, near the PA's office, so he wasn't concerned about it.
The car had a Faearan navigator, but he really didn't have to do much driving. The vehicle ran on hydro-fusion, something the Turanians had long ago perfected. All he had to do was put their gear in the trunk and program in the destination...his mistress's house, Maeryth Na'Taron.
The long shadows of the evening were setting in as they arrived. Maeryth was there to greet them as they arrived. "I've been so worried about you since I got the call. I heard some of what happened. Did you see it? Na'Alba!* Are you alright?" There was genuine concern in her voice.
"We saw everything, from up there," Shea answered in Faeari, pointing to the sky. "No, she's not alright. Let's get her inside and tell our stories there. May we all come in, Na'Maeryth?"
"Of course. You know my home is open to you, Na'Alba and your crew. Come! You are hungry? Thirsty? I will have the servants bring food and drink!"
"Both would be excellent, dear friend." Shea looped his arm through Alba's and gestured for the others to follow. "Follow us and...mind your manners."

* When 'Na' is used before a woman's name, it is a title of respect - 'Lady'. As with the Na' before the last name (father's name), both indicate feminine gender.
Back to the story! I couldn't find this image at first, but I did (obviously). Whew!
