An Albion class , amphibious transport dock. In 2011, HMS Bulwark became the flagship of the Royal Navy.
Well they're arriving, it's blowing a gale giving very rough conditions, a bit like the Atlantic, and I'm sure they'll all be glad to get into port......

"In 2011, HMS Bulwark became the flagship of the Royal Navy." ...given how much I know about our illustrious country's military history, should I know be officially depressed? All the same another great piece of factual data mate!

beautiful shot!

Great shot of the ship! I am surprised this is the flagship. No battleships or carriers left?

Great shot! I wouldn't be on that ship (or any other floating craft) in calm water, much less a gale. Sterner stuff than I sail the seas.

excellent capture

Cool image mate and if you zoom it seems like there is a John Deere tractor on the deck :)

Looks like a cruise ship without port holes. Considering the weather, this is a fine photo. The fog adds to the shot, as one would expect to see this at sea. Zooming gives an idea of how large the ship is - almost like a WWII battleship, though it definitively doesn't pack the same whalop! But, that's not its purpose, being a very efficient landing craft. Keep up the good work, Neil. This is really enjoyable! :-)

Flagship huh? Not impressive really for a flagship BUT! This could be a great event, I must make an effort to see more ships... (note made!).. Good shot.. Rob
