Description

Friends gave me this lovely plant with unusual flowers. When asked what it was they said "A Texas something or other." Big help that was! I've been unable to identify via the internet. So any help would be appreciated. Richard? As always thanks for the looks, favs, and comments.

My best guess is it might belong to the Violaceae family, but the leafs look wrong. This is a fun game. Do more.

Your best bet is to take the photo to a greenhouse/nursery and see if anyone there can ID it. Or you could take it to a local collage botanist. It's beautiful even if we don't know what it is.
