Description

Today again a picture from my album: Paths. This crossing is outside of Las Vegas. The old power poles have it done to me. This we do not find in Germany (terms of area). Matching the "old energy" I chose the vintage look. ** please zoom **

Fantastic capture and mood. Too many photographers try and avoid telegraph and power cables in images but this is the key focus of the shot and it works so well, in this day and age it's hard to avoid them, you got it spot on here.

You have done a great job of bringing focus to what we in the America's consider the bane of photography. We always look out for poles and wires and try to get angles where they are not present or can be photoshopped out. It is often a curse to find a wire in your photo that you only noticed when you see it on your computer! Here the unabashed focus on them with their strong dark intersecting lines seems to work.

Agree with brewgirlca's comments completely. I generally hate to find electrical poles & wires in settings that would otherwise be idyllic - like the rural area where I live - but by making them the subject of your photo, you have transformed them into something appealing. I would love to see a day when wireless transmission of energy becomes a reality...
