Description
Okay, my friends..... Here comes page 7 as the girls head off to Washington DC.
After quite a bit of playing around, adding a few custom mats here and there, and adding a new version of Poser and the requisite linking of my rapidly growing external runtimes, I had quite a bit of fun putting this together.
The first two panels where G4 and Arawen are on board the airliner were done in Poser Pro 2012. Last three panels, starting with Melanie and Ranpha in the T.N.A. lab were done in Poser Pro 2014. I have to say at this point, I'm pretty impressed with the new version of Poser. Navigating around in the preview mode seems to be a whole lot smoother, the lights work better and faster, and it does seem to render a little bit faster - especially with a complex scene such as panel five. The morph brush is very much improved, and seems considerably more responsive. I used the morph brush to help fit the Vindicator outfit to Ranpha - I haven't even tried the fitting room yet! Anyway, the morph brush worked really well getting that outfit to fit properly on Ranpha's petite body.
Frame five was...... interesting..... To put together. The background is a photo that I took in Kansas City's Union Station, which is standing in for the airport in Washington DC. Getting the reflections right for the girls and their admirers was a bit of a challenge. I tried to match their reflections with the reflections in the existing photograph. It was a bit of a hair puller - especially since the reflections show up more in the darker areas and less so in the light area on the floor, which is actually a reflection from the window at top center. I basically used a primitive prop - a box - which I squashed down flat, then extended in the X and Z directions, and used as a "floor" underneath the figures. I just added a reflection in the material room, then made it almost completely transparent. I rendered the figures in one pass, then I rendered a shadow map, and used the shadow map as a layer in Photoshop, which was set to overlay blend mode.
By this time, my mind had had enough, and left me for the rest of the evening. So if any of you find a mind running around aimlessly, please capture it - it belongs to me. I'll pay the postage... LOL
For the life of me, I can't remember who the guy on the left is in frame five - the one stumbling over Antonio's suitcase... The guy stumbling over his own suitcase is Shawn by Schonee, and that handsome fellow shopping on Amazon for some ZZ Top tunes is Ray's (SidheRoseGraphics) new guy, Seth. You can pick him up over at YURDigital (SRG_Seth). You'll be seeing more of Seth later on in the story, as well as in a render of his own. Thanks for sending him over, Ray!
I hope you all enjoy this page as much as I enjoyed putting it together! As always, thank you all so much for all of your great comments and support - and for your own inspirational artwork!
I'm trying hard to get caught up on comments - hopefully I'll get there tonight. Renderosity has just been so blasted slow the last couple weeks, it's hard to get caught up.
I hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend!

This is so good. they are sure turning heads in the airport. nice play on words and scenes Sounds like you're having a lot of fun. I'm on Hi-speed cable and Rendo is slow in responding with 1247 people online to here
Savage_dragon
No. No problem being noticed. Kinda' like when I go to town in summer in my shorts & tats from top to ankles. Pony tail & tats on neck/spine & shoulders... Lol. Another great chapter!

Rod, you never cease to amaze me with how you put these chapters together. This one was a lot of fun, and you did a stellar job with what had to be difficult lighting on some of the scenes. I especially like frame 5 as I was in Union Station a short while back.

Wow! That last frame is really awesome. It is indeed hard NOT to notice G4s accetuated curves, eh!?. Superb work all over. I like the litlle walker robots too. I'll bet they're quite handy. Great chapter and again, very clever work on the light and shadow.

Now the intrigue begins! Let's hope Ranpha can crack that code. Your last panel is amazing, Rod! So much going on. That was very clever how you did the shadows, and thanks for the tip! Lol...yeah, that sounds like Seth :) Thank you for using him!!! Love the story and panels hon. Excellent work and always a treat!

WoW!!! awesme page!...I specially like the scenes with Ranpha and Melanie... that vindicator suit on Ranpha blew me away... man, if I wanted the new poser before, I want it more now!!!... I can't wait to see what's on that SD card, if anyone can break that encryption, Ranpha can!! and when G4 and Ar arrive at TNA DC office!! Super work my friend, and Ranpha came out just beautiful in that suit, now to see If I can get her to look this good... Have a get week.. Let me know about pp2014 when you can, to see if I'll get it... oh btw let Betty know that her bots are running around all over the Lab!!..

Awesome images.....Your TNA girls are fun to watch, and your stories are very creative.....I don't know how you think up this stuff! I see that "Seth" is there....watching the girls.....I wonder if the girls are aware that "Seth" is a vampire....he's pretending to be shopping for ZZ Top tunes.....I think what he really wants is their "blood"....."LOL"!! Super job!!

I was waiting to hear word from someone who has already gotten 2014 PP, I am dying to get it. Glad to hear that about the morph brush, I use it alot too. Not real good at it, a lot of try overs some times. Thanks for updating. Let us know about the fitting room when you try it. You really knock your self out on these. I know there is a lot of time put in them, especially when you add custom mats. I love the last scene, they guys, that is funny. Excellent work Rod!
Cyve

WOW Rod! It never ceases to amaze me just how much work you put into your story here. It really pays off though. This looks awesome! Looks like you got that outfit to fit Ranpha like a glove. VERY sexy! The panel with all the guys tripping over things because they are watching the babes is hilarious. Awesome work as always buddy. Check your Rod's Lair email please.

We've been off line for a couple days (no connectivity at Devils Tower ... imagine that! LOL!), and it was a huge treat to finally get on line and see you'd done a new page. LOVE the work with Union Station. We were there the day after we saw you and Jo. Glad you got the new 2014 Poser! Excellent stuff, my friend.

Great page Rod. Read a few weeks ago where some young lady got out off a plane because she was wearing something that a flight attendant deemed to be too revealing. You must have put the girls on a different airline:) Union station make a great stand in...what a classic place. My mind is boggled just reading about what you did for the girls' shadows. It worked out beautifully!

HA! HA! HA! HA! HA! Totally brilliant ending AND SO TRUE! But in all my flying I've never sat in an aircraft that empty! lol Well, only once! Freakishly empty that was and a delight!!! Great fun and VERY detailed as always! Well done! Rob
