Description
Captain's Log- Only 5 of us are left. The "Fearless" has been ice bound for 72 days. I think. We didn't see the sun for about a week. Due to the storm and our lack of food and strength we were unable to clear the rigging of ice and lost the foremast. The First Mate has taken 6 of the strongest men over the glacier to attempt to find the native settlement we passed what seems like an eternity ago. They have been gone 14 days. Over the last two days the sky has been clearing and we put the remainder of our whale oil in a lantern and the Bosuns Mate hung it from the main mast. I doubt it will be seen. The men have come to suspect what I am already sure of. Without rescue, we will not live long enough to try and free ourselves. I give the rest of us a week at most. After that, may God have mercy upon our souls.
I really struggled with this image. I changed and tweaked it so much from the original idea, I dont even remember what that looked like. But at last I feel good enough about it that I can let it go. Thanks once again to The Hankster, his ship the "Cumberland" was overworked into the Fearless. Rendered in Vue6 Pro and overly processed in Photoshop.

Well I think it was well worth the effort..a striking image that shows well the contrasts of moon light against the ice cold mountains and the darker shaded side with vapors rising. My only problem is that with an image this good..I want to see it fill my 30 inch monitor!! 5+++ for sure
