Description

Vue8Frontier/DazStudio/Wings3D/Photoshop The best part of being in an online art community such as this is the input, comments and suggestions one receives after posting an image. If taken as constructive criticism, they can actually help to make a good image better,or lead you down an alternate path of discovery...as long as you are open-minded and willing! A recent comment by Markal led me to re-examine the look of a ringed planet I had created, and in the process enhance that model. The same is true with this image...wblack made a few comments and suggestions regarding my previous version of this image, and as a result I decided to go back,re-model the structure, and tweak the scene...I like this version much better,I leave it up to you to decide your favourite! Structure modelled in Wings3D,with modified Vue materials applied.Sky is the same as before, but with changes to the haze colour, light decay setting and position of the sun...all else is exactly as before.Postwork consisted of additional red glow effect, signature and resizing. Thanks for taking the time to view and for any comments..and thanks William for your input!

You've captured the essence of my suggestions perfectly and taken them to the next level: the baleful illumination and massive looming presence; the cryptic details and decayed texture suggesting a dark mixed breed somewhere between metal and cold blooded flesh; the suspended dread as the explorers approach the enigma, the tension of the mystery awaiting discovery ... beautifully realized my friend. 5+

Wow, that is fantastic! The structure changes are perfect. It has a creature look about it and the color of the ambient light makes the whole image more foreboding and mysterious. I like this one better.

Wonderful....though I do like the green highlights this is a better image. I have found that reworking older images makes me fill complete...like it should have been in the first place...hope you do too!

Really like the biomechanical shapes in this one, and the figures defining the scale. The godrays and stormclouds in the background also add some great atmo.

I'd say this is the better version from my perspective. I agree with your comments about how to look at negative critiques. I often find them the most valuable input of all.

This is different from the last image, not better or worse. I think you've done a great job on the modeling and atmosphere. This one has a more organic and even sinister look. A simple color change with a more foreboding atmosphere can really change a mood or impression. Excellent work.
