Description

Both married to men whose obsession was the pursuit of money and power...loneliness had drawn them together. Now, they found their feelings for each other changing. It was uncharted territory for both of them...suddenly, Barbara found herself as nervous as a virgin on her wedding night. "You know - if we go there tonight, there's no turning back..." "I don't care," whispered Jessica, gazing at Barbara from across the table... ***** Okay, there are things about this image I think are really good - and other elements that frankly suck. I'm seriously looking for some constructive criticism and suggestions here, so please don't be afraid to take me to task. I promise, I won't bite... ;) My main problems are the brass candle holder - which looks like plastic - and the wine and the wine glasses (ditto). Since doing this image (a couple of years back) I have learned the finer points of using reflection maps, so I know I could do the candle holder better. The wine glasses are a Freestuff item from the very talented and generous Gerald Day - they're great because you can use morphs to control the amount and the tilt of the liquid. The look of them are not his fault - I just need to get a handle on applying materials and transparency, something I still struggle with. RodS gave me some ideas, but I'm always interested in hearing a variety of perspectives - particularly when I can apply them to stuff I already have. So...any ideas? Thanks!

As for the wine, try doing a deeper red (rose') and tweaking the transparency. It'll bring the "new" red/rose' down while taking that thick Kool-Aid look out. Tweak the reflectivity on the glasses as well just a tad. But otherwise, looks like you nailed it. Like the wall texture.

I love it myself. I think if you had toned down the lights it would have made up for the glasses of wine and candel holders. Remember it was sort of a romatic & secret rendezvous so they would not have been in such a brightly lit room. Please where did you get the heart necklaces????? been looking for something like that for a while now.

Good actor direction. Don't know about mats in DAZ Studio. Maybe there are some decent shaders somewhere in freestuff.

Great job! I agree on the lighting. Dropping the intensity &/or scale will help with both the glass/candle and make the atmosphere of the overall theme.

Thank you all for the suggestions. Now that I look at it, I should have realized that real candles never give off that much light. What was I thinking?!?
