Description

OK. This is NOT a great image, I know that. I took it in BRIGHT sunlight with my IPad2. My IPad actually DOES take excellent pictures when the sun isn't shining on it's poor little lens, LOL. Anyway ... can any of you antique buffs out there guess what kind of car this is? I was surprised that I was able to guess before seeing the name on it - since I AM NOT old enough to remember these - TRUTH! I want to tell you all that if my commenting is sporadic, it is because I am away on vacation camping and my internet opportunities are limited. So, PLEASE bear with me until I get home, OK? Thanks for that. Battery nearly dead. Gotta go. Bye.

Studebaker for sure, saw this car once and it got stuck in my memory. Always great to see it again.

I knew what it was but didn't want to spoil the quiz! A friend of mine has one of these Starlight coupes and LOVES IT.

Lucien is VERY close. This Stude Champion Body Style was made from 1947-1952 (my uncle had an all black 51 in the late 50's). I ABSOLUTELY LOVED that car. After he "wrecked" it, we put the Commando Engine in a Lark truck. It was, shall we say, front heavy? The "spinner" type grill (with the heavy chrome spokes) were from 50-52. But the smaller spokes (non chromed) were from 47 and 48. Body didn't really change otherwise 'cept turn signal lens colors back and forth (amber, red, white, back to amber...). They went to the "Starlight" body in 53 and we all cried. ITS FOR SALE...Where and How Much?!? I'm SURE my wife wouldn't mind me putting it next to the 66 Ranchero in the gara......PRANG! (sound of skillet hitting noggin).

It looks a lot like a Hudson Hornet... but I'm not an expert either. Great looking car at any rate.!!

Wow!...great car!... I had to look this one up.. What I came up with was a Studebaker Commander Starlight ( possibly a 51 model)... this one look like it's had some body work done to it, from the lack of a front bumper.. Hope you have a good time on your vacation... be careful out there camping, I heard big foot was in the area... no just kidding... huh, what was that....

Hey, Mike - what a great shot of this old Studie! Very futuristic looking - even by today's standards. What? No WiFi in the woods? What's up with that? We need more satellites! :-D
