A very powerful image for me Duncan. Our helicopter squadron HS-5 was sailing down range to pick up Virgil "Gus" Grissom, Edward H. White II and Roger B. Chaffee. The launch did not happen due to the cabin fire during a launch rehearsal test, on January 27th, at Cape Canaveral, killed all three crew members.
