Description
Blue fan blades galore, with slot head screws in the center.
This is the original and not a variation, captured back on 10/18/09, at the beautiful Orchid Show held at the beautiful Huntington Botanical Center and Conservatory in beautiful San Marino, California.
It hasn't been easy, especially with all of my ailments to contend with, but another century mark reached on my postings.
Most ZOOM worthy.
Pozegnanie, and have a nice day.

again, I didn't get here on the day, but I saw it nonetheless, and knew the milestone was approaching...I agree with Denise on all she said. (I love the "screw" she refers to---it does look like a screw!) In your huge and highly diverse catalog of beautiful flower-captures, this one is almost like a fan, it has mass and a big face; and the mass all culminates in its petaled face. Beautiful capture of the mass and variety of a flower. The light on the front-most petals is beautiful, esp the star-like spread of light across the front---light no doubt mixed with the hues of the flower itself. You get this 'burst' effect in a number of your flower shots, where the light and petal-hues mix to create a starburst. The center (stamens) does look like a screw. Also, your background hues are so rich, with a beautiful splash of violet-hues, and good use of black. But then, you always used black extremely well in your flower shots. Yes, another milestone, worthy of great praise. Many many more, Harry. And I hope your health allows you to go on as long as you wish. I know you've dealt with a huge handful problems, and I know it makes photographing hard. But you deserve real praise for doing this day after day, through it all. Wonderful shot to celebrate it all.

I had to come back for the blue orchids, blue being my favorite color and these being such gorgeous orchids! Congratulations (a bit late) on another century mark! This is a beautiful image to celebrate it with. I second Mark's hope for good health and many more such milestones. Gorgeous capture of these beautiful orchids! I love the color, patterns, and texture. Wonderful detail and light.
