You might spot me at Kirra Beach, the South-Eastern end of the Gold Coast, Australia,  if you like beach walking like myself... but there is more ! My son Jeff (*jif3d*, here at Rendo, it helps to advertise, ooops)... he took this pic of me in 2000, then manipulated it in photo-shop and it's still one of my favourites. Just very briefly about my past... *born in East Prussia; *grew up in Berlin, West Germany; *migrated to "OZ" in 1960, (not the Wizard of Oz) but...AUSTRALIA ! I guess  I was more into '2D' since early childhood, and thinking that my son Jeff may have inherited some of my artistic skills, because he translated them into '3D'. I am hooked on photography, since I discovered cameras... that's it in a nutshell. BTW - one of my fav.quotes.... ** I cannot give you the formula for success, but I can give you the formula for failure - which is trying to please everybody !**                                              that's a wrap... Cheers Brigitte.

Great in so many ways! If the mice have't eaten them I still my have my artworks from when I was eight in the roof. I don't want to go and look in case they are gone! I do like this, what a success!

This is marvelous, Brigitte! And this was your first work!? Thank you so much for this wonderful and personal gift! I love it, both the image and the nostalgia trip! I drew a lot growing up, but mostly the same things, ladies from hairstyle books, trolls (the little dolls), and paper doll clothes. Other than some doodles that were in letters when I was a teenager, they are all gone. My sister, Leslie, had all the old paper dolls until a flood in New Orleans destroyed them. She was heart sick to lose them, because of all the memories they held. Our paper dolls lived in Regency England, the American West, on other galaxies (visited by the Star Ship Enterprise), to name just a few of their travels. They had quite a wardrobe. I don't know where to start with this marvelous work! The colors are so rich against the dark background. I love the variety of colors in the architecture; the delicate lines and colors of the minarets, the more earthy reds and tans of the domed buildings, and the blues which shine like reflected light. And the roses! The colors, shapes, and the way the outlining of them by the background adds to their distinctiveness and charm is just wonderful. They remind me of painted work I've seen in the northeast, perhaps of the Amish tradition. They have the same vitality. I love the shading on the baskets and donkey, the lighter weave of the basket, the outlining fur on the donkey's face and ears, and very cute tuft of hair. The red bridle is a wonderful accent and connects him to the flowers he is carrying. The cobblestones curve around and draw me into the image. I am so glad you could never discard this first art. Thank you so much for delivering these roses, on this cute little donkey, to me on my birthday. I would love him if I had no idea whose work he was, and his history and connection to you, makes him all the more meaningful for me. Thank you, dear Brigitte. This really made my day, which was already pretty great, even brighter!
