Description

Due to request, I am posting the original image of Phlox that was used in my last image with Abby in "The Peaceful Place ~ A Bed of Phlox." This bed of Phlox, the other shrubs, and the "BFR" were landscaped at the corner of our driveway, shortly after we purchased a new home. A local teen "village idiot" was making sport of driving across newly planted grass yards leaving ruts. After placing the "BFR" [rock] and planting two trees, she only tried it once more; leaving part of the undercarriage of her car behind. I am humbled to be selected for the "Second Look" by the Photography Forum, with my image "Old Tack." Thank you for viewing my gallery and your comments.

the flowers are very beautiful when I was young, a good friend that was a neighbor was tired of some teenagers turning the corner and spinning their bald tires in front of this home. he heard them coming one day while doing some landscaping with railroad ties and he threw one into the street just before they made it to the corner. sure enough they flew around the corner almost on two wheels. when they seen the railroad tie they almost ran into the ditch trying to avoid it. after that they never came burning rubber again

Beautiful photo! Where we lived in New Hampshire, our house was next to a 90° blind curve. There had been several incidents of cars not making the curve and hitting the house before we owned it. The previous owners had put a bolder only slightly smaller than a VW Bug in the path and it at least slowed them down.

LOL! I love the little deterrent devised to stop the "Village Idiot." Sounds like a tactic that would have been utilized in my old neighborhood. Beautiful photo!
