Description

Sorry. I didn't have time to get out the Nikon. The story: Mid Sunday afternoon the sky began to darken rapidly and the wind started kicking up and we heard thunder rolling off in the distance to the north. Our beautiful, sunny, New England afternoon was fleeing fast and it was time to roll up the awning and get ready to head inside the camper. We turned on WHOM 94.9, the radio station situated on the top of mount Washington, and right about then the rain came to join the wind and rumbling thunder. The sky to the north took on an ominous, scary look reminding my wife Holly of the way the sky used to look out in Ohio right before a tornado. Shortly there after, almost as if to reinforce her point, that annoying, grating sound you can't ignore came across the airwaves preparing us for a severe weather warning. A distant part of our sister state of Maine had severe wind and tornado-potential conditions bearing down on her rapidly and people were be warned to be on the watch. Fortunately, no tornadoes did develop and the storm quickly passed to our north. In fact, the weather front was moving so fast that the beautiful sunset you see above developed really quickly and I had no time to break out the Nikon and get really good shots. Instead I grabbed my little IPad 2 and waded out into the water about up to my knees and took a number of photos. All too quickly it was gone. I hope you enjoyed this short story about a little piece of our vacation here in NH and like the image. Thanks for stopping in and leaving a comment.

Oh yes, I clearly remember that storm rolling in!! White-caps on the lake, trees bending in the wind, rain pounding against the camper...and then this. It was a nice close to our last night!
