Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

The harsh PW gives this a touch of the hard reality of life.

The postwork fits perfectly with the theme. Very well done!!

Not homeless, just drunk or drugged. The homeless have a lot more kit.

who knows what he will feel like when he comes round

Very stark and in-your-face image. Reminds me of an old song by Tom Waits who saw his share of fallen souls here in Los Angeles, "Wasted and wounded, it ain't what the moon did, I got what I paid for now." Looks like this fellow got what he paid for.

I believe you used Poster Edges as the filter in this stellar shot of the inebriated, or just too tired to care, individual, snoozing it off on the bench. A transient at worst. I thought I was the only one who did this kind of subject matter on Rendo. And, how do you like a storm being named after you? It must give you a sense of omnipotence.

Very good & powerful image! your postwork sends this message to a new level in In-Your-Face

Well at least he made it onto a bench. :D Living in the city many a weekend saw a reveller curled upon my front door step to get out of the wind. It must be hard to make your way home when the path keeps swooning about.

Homeless or just drunk - it is a sad site to see and it should be a shock to all.

I'm surprised no one caught the irony .. passed out in the Bournemouth Lower Pleasure Gardens? Wonderful post work, terrific capture of todays dissolute youth. I'm guessing it's a young person from the dress.

Superb capture and post work Andrea. God bless.

Fine capture and postwork!! Fine comment about our world..

He looks like he's cocooned! Maybe he's reverse-metamorphosing into his native form? Or not! I love the postwork and the wonderful little details. Drunkenness in Chicago can get pretty...um...messy, but--fortunately--the whole sleeping-it-off process usually involves someone's couch, the bathroom floor, and in one case I'm still trying to understand, a bedroom closet! (how or why he got there, I'll never know, but I wish I'd taken a photo!) This is quite an intriguing, touching shot.

I like how u done this one very cool work on it.

HAHA for Chipka! Maybe it is only his shell :) Great shot, Andrea and I like the postwork.

I guess if you have to sleep on a bench it's good to find one with a roof over it...excellent and poignant work!

Great postwork choice for the subject matter. You convey a mood without passing judgment. Nicely done!

Looks like a bucket of cold water was needed.

Stark reminder we can all be just one payment away from that life. Nice capture, makes one appreciate what we may have, no matter how little or how much.
