Description
This is an old fountain once used to do the washing, take buckets of water to the house, etc. It is in front of the house (a rather indifferent building, if not decidedly ugly, a pity). Beyond the hedge there is the unpaved road, which divides the house, the mound and a number of fields from other fields belonging to the same farmer.

Oh how interesting, there is an old barn out behind where I live that has the ivy that hangs all over it like your tub there I need to go out and get a good picture of it for you... and so sorry I missed your birthday hope it was loads (lol) of fun referring to the laundry done in the old fountain

a beautiful shot, sandra, vivid and saturated, and the fountain/pool seems strangely ancient because of your coloring and light. Of course your narrative reminds us of the juxtaposition of time and cultures, ancient and modern (with the ugly house we don't see). I don't know if you intended this to evoke an ancient monument of some kind, but for me it does. Your treatment allows it to. You keep showing us the collision of modern culture with very old; it never leaves your gallery, no doubt because it's one of the themes in your work; but perhaps also because it's part of your passion or drive, or maybe even part of what drew you to the field to begin with, I don't know...But the many ways you show these juxtapositions bring home how varied the human imagination is; and how even this little pool---which may be far less enticing, in person, than it is in your photo---feels linked to the ancient cultures around it. A magical shot, filled for me at least with intimations of something very ancient...
