Description

While I appreciate comments, I appreciate legitimate comments that are more than just a "pat on the head". How could I make this better? What could be done differently? What might I have overlooked? If you like it - WHAT, specifically, do you like about it?? I'm trying to be better and seeing things through the eyes of others can really help! No post work except to add signature. This portrait has the fascinating beauty of a butterfly pinned in a showcase. Depth of field is too short in my eyes, blocking our view of the central pinhole formed by the reflection in the pupil. I love when the composition allows the eye to move and scroll the image both on its surface and in its depth. I have not managed to identify the crown which frames the bust of the young woman in the background, I first thought it was a pair of wings belonging to her costume. Which reinforced the impression of their weird blur relative to the body. The red color is too strong by contrast with the blue background because it gives the impression to move back in the forefront upsetting the distance you placed. The pose is affected too, our body has two arms, I want to know how the body reacts, changes of expression by the intrusion of the viewer She seems to stare at. Here my eyes in a closed loop move along the triangulation through the right eye, the collar and goes by the arm, so the left part of the image is unbalanced. Finally, I like that the details which are scattered throughout the image are not always obvious at first glance (jewelry here) to enrich the meaning of the second reading of the image. Well, I was a little long, I don’t usually comment on the images on this site, although it is part of my job. I hope these comments will be constructive, because as I said your image is fascinating. Keep going.

I like the lighting and the hair. It is a portrait then it is a good idea to blur the background so that the focus is on the girl. The left arm up is also a good idea to break the symetry. Excellent work !

I think that portrait is stunning, I like everything about it ... so no advice, nothing more to say ... and what's more, English is not my native language ;-)

I like the picture very much, and I like that you are asking for constructive comments so here are mine; when I look at an image I ask what is it saying to me? This one because of her expression which to me looks kind of sad or upset and with her hand on her head makes me feel she is thinking or wishing she could fly away . the wings being blurred add to the emotion of a dream or wish rather than if you were to render them as crisp and realistic as the foreground that would have made her angelic. I do agree with marcopol that the depth of field is to short (her arm being blurred) . If you would have put the camera more on an angle across her body instead of straight on and placing the subject off center would have worked more giving you more depth to the piece and drawing you in to it. Also the placement of her hand on her head, if it was behind her head it would give her more of a model or pinup look ,closer to her temple is more of a thinking pose ,but on top of her head looks like she is scratching off fleas, don't get me wrong I like this picture very much and thank you for listening. keep on rendering !

I really appreciate the constructive criticism! Thanks for taking the time to elaborate on your thoughts - it really does help me! It seems I'm always battling between what I have in my imagination and what I can manage to get Poser to do - sometimes Poser makes me want to pull my own hair out (DAZ Studio was even worse! ) I'm already working on the next Noni render. We'll see how that one goes. :o)

I like it just the way it is. Beautiful character well posed and lighted.

I like it a lot. I find the broken light on the face seems to affect my ability to focus on the image to its detriment.
