Description

This was taken in September 2004, it's my late mother on the left, my sister in the middle and brother-in-law on the right walking towards the Wistlanpound reservoir in Kentisbury, North Devon. Less than two months after this photograph was taken my mother had a bad accident whilst pre-xmas shopping with my sister as a result her mobility was restricted by 50% being type-2 this induced weight gain and subsequently physiotherapy on the knee never really worked and was the catalyst to kidney failure in 2007 and almost died then, she died 18 months later on the way to dialysis, not before becoming a great grandmother, and being able to share those precious 18 months with us. Incrimination after her death also resulted in me and my sister never speaking again and whilst I never fell out with my brother-in-law or nephews.. blood runs thicker than water and I have never seen or spoken to any of them since April 2009. I went back to the reservoir recently this year and took a whole new set of photographs that I have not yet released, hopefully they will not have the taint of painful events associated with them as many of this 2004 set have and up until recently it's been hard to look at them. Another in this series is in my gallery called "Walking by the Boathouse" there is also another close shot of this scene that I may release at some stage.
