Description

It's summer at last and my cacti are loving it. This one had never bloomed before, so it was a surprise when one of the furry nubs that began to appear last month shot out 6" and became this lovely 4" wide flower. Sadly it only lasted for 2 days. But there's always next year...

Is that a stick Catus? I have one and it is huge but has never bloomed.

the picture is deceptive. The stick (or pencil) cactus is simply propping up the blossom. The cactus in the background with all the spines is the one blooming. I also have a huge old pencil cactus which has never bloomed.
