Description
This is my first upload using Preta-3D's Reality and Luxrender, and all I can say is wow. As a photographer, I am amazed by how these work together to emulate real world lighting.
This image was shot with a single distant light acting as the sun, with a large translucent pane functioning as "clouds," giving the appearance of overcast.
To that, all I added was a single "metal" plane to act as a reflector, pushing a little extra light into the shadowed side of her face.
I used a shallow depth of field to hide the rather dreary back, exactly as I would with my DSLR and a live model.
This is the unretouched image, straight out of Luxrender.

Very nice! Been thinking of getting a better render engine myself, but the OS on my mac is either too old to support it, or those softwares do not support mac :P
