Description

"Castle Moat Patrolling" **Construction of a castle is quite remarkable. It's truly amazing how big and roomy one can be. Then there's the Moat. A very large and wide and deep circle of water that surrounds the awsome castle structure. These moats were made with protection in mind. They would even have patrols of gaurds or a boat that would patrol around and around the castle to insure the safety of the King and Queen or some other higher ranked status people. Once the drawbridge had been lifted, the castle was a virtual fortress. Some would put alligators or crocodiles in the moat so that when there was a battle, if anyone tried to get to the castle via the moat, they would get chomped by a gator or croc... some would fill the moat with a flammable liquid and when the enemy was taken down with a fireball that would turn your average man crispy in an instant! There were even those people that would pray to their God and fill the moat with gas and at the first sign of danger, all they had to do was toss a match or a light into the the moat and whosoever of the enemy was too close ''Burn''! I believe that this is where chances are the only one left that would go "Boom!" as they would perish and have a nice glow about them! Those who had a moat felt pretty good and everyone always felt safe in their Giant Castles! ...as usual, just my thoughts... Oh I do love a riverboat. As a boy I would run up and down the muddy banks of the Ohio River, barefoot of course, and watch the Riverboat land and all the people come off the gangplank at the bow of the ship. I remember thinking it was funny that men, and ladies, dressed in suits and fancy dresses would take their shoes off and tip toe through the mud. They finally built bridges and the days of the Riverboats are now completely gone.
