Description
The Coast Banksia is a species of tree that grows along the east coast of Australia. Unlike the seed pods of other types of Banksia, the Coast Banksia does not require bushfire to trigger the release of its seed. Rather, seed is released spontaneously on reaching maturity. Shot in natural light. Please zoom for a better look.

The smiling guy at the right seems to be very nice, the other is more reserved and seems to be a bit prickly. Cool capture Mate!

That's why I like Banksias, they are so hardy and perfect for our East Coast climate, and a bonus, they have so many different textures, a photographers delight ... ;) BB
