Description

another capture of the beautiful fountain outside and in front of the Union Station downtown Kansas City. a lot of history surrounds the Union Station, i think Valentines Massacre happened there, across is the Liberty Memorial, a dedication memorial to WW1 and WW2, more pics of it to come. another shot with my Nikon D50 with the Sigma 75-300 zoom/ macro lens on a tripod with 2 second timer!

Great place to stand! The afternoon we were there it was windy as all getout, so my fountain shots aren't much to look at. The plaque on the front of Union Station (next to where there's still a bullet) says it was the Kansas City Massacre, June 17, 1933. Pretty Boy Floyd and his bunch tried to free one of their gang (Frank Nash) from FBI guys who were transporting Nash to Leavenworth. I know that fountain...... LOL! I really beautiful shot, Rick! You must have gone on that nighttime photo walk. Too bad I wasn't able to make it. Actually the famous St. Valentine's Day massacre happened in Chicago, but there was an incident in front of union station as Tara alluded to above.
