Description

I suggest you hit the zoom in button for this one. So, the new poser has the ability to use Pixar's subdiv tech, and I thought I'd put it to the test on these head tentacles (lekku). Here I go through various renders, from no smoothing to regular firefly smoothing to subdiv and subdix+firefly smoothing, to show the outcome of each. Of note is that the subdiv smoothing is applied only to the tentacle headset, not the rest of the figure (ie. the human looking part). In this case the effect is most pronounced on the top/back end of the head. While this lekku set is pretty hard edged, with subdiv I'd say it looks better than just the standard firefly smoothing, making it more viable for renders. So far Subdiv is one of my favourite featuers of Poser 2014. You can take older/low poly figures and through subdiv they can hold their own with higher end/more modern ones. For those who are interested, the lekku headset can be found over at RadiantCG-> http://www.radiantcg.com/gallery/details.php?image_id=201

Hey, really smooth work there Pete...LOL Sorry couldn't help myself, so I guess all those old Vickies and Mickies are back in action, which is kool, cause I still have problems with the Dson/Genesis importer and trying to access libs after loading a figure...go figure ! ~Cheers~

I've been meaning to post my own version of this sort of thing. Now I think PP2014 is old enough that there's not much point.
