Jocko500 and myself passed this town before but there was so much traffic we did not stop hardly.Thursday I did stop and took several pictures. William Bonney was an infamous outlaw and spent time here being the most famous character Birth: Nov. 23, 1859, USA Death: Jul. 15, 1881 Fort Sumner DeBaca County New Mexico, USA Legendary Outlaw. He was born in New York City as Henry McCarty. His mother's name was Catherine McCarty. Not very much information is known about his father except that he died when the Kid was young. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?GRid=94&page=gr the church was built in 1887
