Description

This piece is based on my memories of exploring the woods around my house which quite often seemed like the deep, dark rainforest in some uncharted land when in all reality it was just undeveloped land in the suburbs, Nonetheless, as a kid I always wondered what it would be like to discover an AT AT out there in the woods. Silly, I know, but when you're a kid anything is possible, right? Anyway, this is just another unfinished piece that has been languishing on my harddrive which finally got some love to wrap it up this evening. Setup and rendered in Vue 6 Infinite with lots of post in Photoshop to get the mood right. Thanks for looking :)

Beautifuly done. I know exactly what you mean. I had a similar forest out my backyard in Missouri. When I was five my best friend swore to me that he saw a flying saucer crash out there during the night and we went searching for the crash site. It was an exciting adventure until he told me that he had found the alien helmet. When I asked to see it he said casually that he had thrown it down the ravine into the creek. I think it was the first time I came face to face with a lie. But up till then, Great Adventure full of the possibilities you've created here. The AT AT very nicely decayed and the woods popping with sound effects and musty smells of rotting leaves. The kids are taking it a lot more calmly than I would. But kids these days, it takes a lot to freak them out. : ))
