Description
Venice. The Frari’s Basilica. The Altar of Relics.
The Deposition (by Francesco Penso alias Cabianca, 1711). In this scene the distraught group of people is wider at the base of the sculpture and pinnacles at the top with the man who is clambering up the ladder in order to lower the lifeless body of Christ using a sheet.
