Description

This is the first time I've seen this particular bird at one of our feeders. He/she was at the squirrel feeder getting peanuts and sunflower seeds. I'm not a bird expert by a long stretch so i did some research, aka google ;-) and the closest I could come up with in appearance is an Oak Titmouse, but they are found from southern Oregon to Baja California so it's not likely to be here in East Texas. Anyone have any clues?? Maybe a Tufted Titmouse?

Had a look in my Field Guide to Birds of North America and it says about the Tufted Titmouse "Active and conspicuous in the treetops of eastern forests, also city parks and suburbs, often visiting feeders for sunflower seeds. In pairs or small flocks, will join flocks with other birds in winter. Has expanded its range northward in recent decades. Mostly gray and white with perky crest, pale face, black forehead, rusty sides. That's the bit I can't see on yours but it may be a youngster. Does that help??
