Description

Back from our short vacation up in the New Hampshire White Mountains. First, this mountain range is covered with lush green trees but those that first saw these mountains, were on a ship, in the winter and the mountains were covered with snow. While hiking in the Franconia Notch State Park, we came across this single mushroom. Due to the color and texture, we thought that it should be nicknamed the scrambled egg mushroom. My research came up with the Poisonous Yellow-Patch Mushroom (Amanita Flavoconia) but would be more than willing to accept another suggestion. It was about 5 inches (12cm) tall and the cap was possibly half of that. Back to commenting on Sunday. Zoom does help a bit! Thank you for stopping by, taking a look and for all your previous favorites and comments. They are very much appreciated. Dana

Funny I just found yellow mushrooms growing in a container with a Coleus plant. I think a different variety – the cap was very uniform in color. They were pretty but didn’t last long in the heat. Great capture!!
