Off To Fringe Toronto by KatesFriend

Let me start by thanking all of you who stopped by to view my recent Canada Day posting What Kind Of Network Are You Running In Canada?. Over a hundred hits in 24 hours, a huge success for my tribute/satire to national identity. And believe me, measuring ourselves against our mighty neightbour to the south and still being proud is really as much a part of our culture and beavers traveling free on public transit - read your Constitution. But we're famous for lots of public things. Much to the endless displeasure of our great porcelain blue prime minister - Stephen "I don't like to pay taxes but still want police protection and paved roads" Harper. Anything that makes him, "very disappointed", has got to be a good thing. And today, yet another doodle lurking in my Runtime. This seems to have been the season for doodles. This is Vany for V3 by outoftouch, one of my favourite characters. Sexy, mature, refined. She's taking a few days this week to enjoy the Toronto Fringe Festival. A great opportunity for most of us who can not afford or attend other cultural events to do it on the cheap. For ten dollars a show (Canadian - I did say cheap) you can take in an hour of Shakespeare, dance, avant garde or the mocking of Shakespeare and the English teachers who idolized him - what is a 'false dichotomy' anyways? It's got drama, comedy, tragedy and of coarse more than a fair helping of WTF? And the best thing is, well before you get bored and start dreading your mistake (not everything is for everyone after all) its over. Highly recommended though there's a lot of walking between performances, I hope Vany has a comfy pair of trainers. I think I'll be taking the time for a few shows myself. Have a great week everyone.

Again, honourable mentions go to the following artists for their free contributions: outoftouch for Vany for V3. jtrout for the Riding Hat. DAZ for Victoria 3.

The festival sounds like fun. Very nice image! Beautiful lighting. I like the shadows on her face and the luminous quality of her eyes. I like the cat too, even though it looks a lot like one who has been in my room slowing down my commenting by; meowing to go out, meowing to come in, leaning against my arm and twisting her head towards me in the 'I am just too adorable to ignore' pose, and butting her head against my face until I am spitting out hair, among other things. Beautiful colors. I like your use of yellows: the yellow glove, and the yellow and white rose and collar, tie the image together. I like the warm yellow tones of the light on her face. The colors you used for the cat are great too. Cooler tones that separate it from Vany and push it into the background. The cat and it's immediate environment are unobtrusive to the foreground, but distinct enough to be seen easily once one looks. Great image!
