Description
This female dragonfly spent 15 minutes within a few feet of me. She kept returning to the same spot. As soon as I would start to take a shot she would fly off a bit but then return. Pondhawk dragonflies are inclined to perch on flat surfaces instead of on vegetation. They are also quite efficient hunters and I have images of female Eastern Pondhawks who have captured and are consuming other species of dragonflies.

I would love to see some of your captures of this dragonfly with their prey. Amazing capture my friend. Here is a link to a Brown dragonfly which I captured on camera.
