Hi, I'm Andrea, and I'm interested in creatures and plants both wild and tamed, and people of all sorts. I only use a compact digital camera ,as I love being able to get it into a back pocket, and not have to cart heavy kit about. I carry a Panasonic Lumix TZ series, binoculars and a hand lens almost everywhere. Most of my outings are with the dogs so I only use point and shoot.
I am getting the hang of Photoshop, thanks to some very kind folk on RR!Â
I have a wildlife garden in Bournemouth, Dorset, in the UK, and spend a lot of time there . I retired from teaching art to teenagers a while ago.
I'm now getting some good results with my digi compacts; it took me a while to make the switch from my old film camera, an 1960 ish Pentax Spotmatic, but the mistakes are much cheaper! Â
I have 4 lodgers, 3 dogs and a parrot who, as at 2017, I have had 40 years.
I has so far had 19 dogs, mostly rescues.

A beautiful capture, one of the few river I never fished as a kid with my late father, no longer go angling as it was so intrinsically associated with those halcyon days of he 70's in the days when Jack Hargreaves was on the TV with Out of Town.

I like this view Andrea, and the memories of when we walked this in 09. Also in the seventies I have the privilege of fishing the Stour where I had caught my first Barbel.

I've always wondered what Great Yellow-cress looked like, and now I have it all in its splendor as displayed in this lovely scenic capture, A. And congratulations on the blue skies.

Ok, so here's how the stream of consciousness goes. I see this image and think how beautiful it is and how lucky you are to have so much of nature near Bournemouth. And then I remember Virginia Wade is a native of Bournemouth. And I remember how she won Wimbledon in 1977. The news here in the last week has been about how Andy Murray won Wimbledon (congratulations England) and is the first Brit since 1936 to win. And then I remember again how Virginia Wade won in 1977 and once again I am reminded that, even now, women don't count. See how my wandering mind can screw up the feeling that comes from seeing a beautiful image like this?

Wish I was there. So inviting of a shot. Nicely done. Thought about trying some subtle tone-mapping?
