In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

There's a stretch of road on HWY 20, an east/west route across California that look a lots like this. It seems to go on forever and when I drive it, I usually have thoughts like, "what was I thinking; will I EVER get there??" great shot of wide open spaces!

When my parents lived at Lake Havasu they had a 45 mile drive from the main highway to the settlement where their house was. Kind of makes you think hard about shopping trips! Sometimes the easiest way was to take the boat across the lake to Havasu City...this is a much lovelier drive than theirs through the desert most of the time. What a welcoming sort of view, those rolling green hills. Beautiful!

Many songs have been written about those long and lonesome roads, but the roads less travelled on, are usually the most unforgettable ones ... and by the look of this dirt track, there has got to be something really tempting at the end of it ... ;)) maybe a nice glass of RED ? a very calming and serene vision BB

Well, it doesn't appear to have been 30 miles of bad road. Excellent image conveying a great sense of wide open (and largely empty) spaces. My eyes do tend to cross when looking at disappearing roads.
