They had been in the field for two weeks. She had just finished her report for the Captain and was finally going to be able to get out of her field gear and take a bath. Then she heard all hell break loose outside. She knew her troops had been out as long as she and were going to get rowdy, but this was intolerable. She threw open the tower door and was about to holler for her sergeant but froze at the scene before her. Orcs!! In her compound!! Someone on the watch would pay dearly, but for now...she grabbed her swords and strode out to end this fight! Across the compound, her sergeant was gradually driving his opponent back. As they separated, he took a fast glance around and his eyes fell on his Chief of Scouts exiting the tower, armed for battle. She did not look pleased. Focusing back on his adversary, he grunted, "You damn fools, you've doomed us all !!" Following his eyes, the massive orc glanced over his shoulder. His jaw dropped at the sight on an elven meat grinder slicing through the thick of the fight. Orks were dropping like wheat before a scythe. Nor were her own troops spared her wrath, though their wounds did not appear fatal. "Were I you," said the sergeant, "I would run." The few remaining orcs made for the compound gate as the sergeant circled in on his leader, carefully keeping an overturned cart between them. "Chief.....it's over...they're gone. We'll clean up out here." She looked across the cart with hooded eyes. "Sergeant, I am going to take a bath. A very long bath. And if I am disturbed again, carve your death sigil before I find you. Am I clear?" The sergeant merely saluted as she turned and walked back to the tower. "Damn, there's a woman." he muttered and then called for the surgeon. One thing for certain, at least this troop wasn't going out again anytime soon. Other than DM noted below, all AS and alfaseed: Alice and Outlander.
