Description
Flame fractal using Apophysis and some post work
using a graphics program to enhance the coloring.
I would appreciate an opinion on the darker background (and anything else). My thinking is that rather than adding to the image it may serve only as a distraction.

Makes me think of Hokusai's wave

I like this piece, I like the way you have expanded onto the frame. Howard Hodgkin does this quite often in his abstract works and it's effective. This is rather like a frame within a frame.. 2 bevel. Nice fluid movement and great sphere, nicely done.

A tidle wave around the world. Beautiful, with great colors. Background doesn't distract. Corrie

It depends on personal taste. I prefer brighter colors, or white background. I think your best have been with a white background. Anyway, interesting design.

I also like this, for me, it does not distract, but does add another element of interest. Great image. Rick

excellent piece I think sharp contrasting colours on a white b/g work very well but your image looks fine as well

Very well done!!!

Beautiful work! The BG may be a little too dark but I don't know that I would make it too light.

There is a richness to the dark background frame which is very satisfying. Having the lighter tone for the inner piece reads well on the right side because of the clear contrast. On the left the edge of demarcation is not so clear and is lost. May be playing with the inner background by either lightening or possible lightening with a subtle gradient on the left side. Something to crisp up that left edge, possibly a bevel highlight? The dark frame image is perfect for me.

Cool forms in this piece. Not sure about the black background, but you know me, almost all my backgrounds are black, with an occasional white one.

Excellent!!! I love that dark background. Better without the additional white one...
