That is NOT me in the picture!
Thanks for visiting my gallery! If you were redirected here from Culture Crunch, you will find the "alternate versions" of Didi and Kelly here, as well as a few prototypes, if you look hard enough.
Once upon a time, I thought to myself, "Wouldn't it be cool to make pictures of people on the computer?" Of course, at the time, I was thinking more along the lines of Max Headroom, but when Poser came out, I knew I had to have it. Yes, folks, I am one of the lucky few who has been using Poser since version 1!
Most people would agree that Poser 4 was the turning point, where it went from being a reference tool to a way to make real pictures (I won't say "real art") in its own right. Then came along someone named Victoria... And the rest is history!
Recently I've been getting into DAZ Studio quite a bit. I'm also trying to wrap my mind around LuxRender.

Very nice comparison of the two. I will leave the nay-sayers and yea-sayers to battle this one to a no-win conclusion

"Real" works for me. Great job comparing the two.

I'll go for your model on the left. I always try to give my models some realism. This example is a very good one. Thanks.

Dare I say, that I think you're actually enjoying using Daz Studio? Because nothing stops your show, I like that!

I prefer the AMG to the V6. I also wonder why the upper belly is always sucked in on ALL Vickie models? And why does the parameter dial for that part never cause a real bulge? The same goes for the Tummy dial, the lower belly doesn't bulge for beans (er, maybe for beans due to excessive gas in her non-existent guts, but....). V6 looks anorectic and as if she's had her internal organs removed. I wonder why they keep on putting out Vicky's that look like this? Do they even have an anatomy expert (ie, like myself) as a consultant? I've decided not to go for V5 or V6. V3 had the best set of morphs (in my opinion) of all the Vicky's I've seen/worked with. I've seen several artists leave the later Vickys and go back to the V3. So, do stick witn AMG and, if you need a gut-less colostomy patient, you have V6! (Need a colostomy opening? Let me know!) :-) (T.Rex is NOT hungry seeing V6!)

Agree with T.Rex. V4 is the final Victoria model for me until further notice, i.e. until some really serious matter (that I cannot imagine right now) is going to change/improve.

I agree, that some renders out there can get pretty crazy, even my own. ;-) Ive gone back and looked at some of my own renders and thought "that doesn't look very real" I kinda see where you're going with your "supermodel" example but just because she was the most successful or the "superest" of models doesn't reflect that her body style is the best possible body style out there or that anything with a smaller waist and bigger bust, lets say, is unrealistic. I personally have dated a girl that was skinnier and bigger busted than even the "vicky" on the right. ;-) So I guess I disagree that your supermodel is "The Standard" and deviating can only be a more plain look or a Barbie doll. If the Supermodel you have mentioned is "your" standard, that works. But I can think of another Very successful "supermodel" Kate Moss" Super Famous, also super skinny a lot of people might say. But to someone out there that's their "Standard" ;-) and anything bigger would be fat. So what is "Normal or Real" is so relative to our own personal taste. I have done renders where I actually copied a picture of someone, staying true in every way. And my friends would say "thats not very realistic" "nobody really looks that good, or skinny or that muscular. Well It is actually a real person. ;-) And the 1st comment posted here is probably the most accurate "...a no win conclusion" we all like what we like, and that's the beauty of this, is we can all create what ever we're thinking.
