My grandmother had a silver snuffer, and I hadn't thought of it in years until I saw this and read your caption. It's a treat to see this beautiful tool, and to remember the very different one from my childhood. :)

Les interrupteurs d'autrefois avaient quand même plus de gueule. J'ai encore une poêle à torréfier. Si je n'y avais pas trouvé du café je n'aurais jamais su ce que c'est.
