Description

Vue8Frontier/DazStudio/Wings3D/Photoshop This one has extensive postwork painting and effects so I felt it should go into the Mixed Medium gallery,although the majority was done in Vue. Ships are one of my Wings models from previous images,figure is from Daz3D(imported via DazStudio). Platform was built in Vue,structures and cables from Cornucopia3D. Two procedural terrains were textured in a modified lava and burnt rock material. Sky,light and atmo are all custom...two cloud layers create the atmosphere. Postwork in Photoshop consisted of painting of lava flows,additional glow effects to structure lights,signature and resizing. Thanks for viewing,and any comments!

Very cool composition - if cool can be a vehicle for the conveyance of superheated stone flowing like liquid metal under a burning sky, then the "coolness" of your compositional skill and exceptional talent in welding the tools of digital artistic creation proves it can! I've run across those who seem to hold a particular bias in regards to post-work - not that I see this in you by any means - as for myself I regard the programs I use to achieve my end as merely the paints, the brushes, the palette knives, and solvents, the chisel's and hammers, and the wet clay with which, and within which, I forge my creation. I cannot recall off-hand, which particular author said it, but his words were something to this effect: the initial act of writing is merely the spill of ideas onto the page - it is in the editing, in the intentional thought and reflection - that the actual creation of a great work is found. Brilliantly done my friend. 5+ and a new addition to my favorites.

Great image, you have captured the feel of a truly violent and primeval environment very well. The atmo, lighting and landscape look excellent, and wrpspeed is right, I won't want to own any of those buildings... Frankly, post work is the difference between lifeless renders and works of art, IMHO. I can see it is promo work for items in the market place, so the buyer can see what the items truly render like, but for a finish piece of art, it is like forgetting to ice the cake, tasty, but just not the same. ~ And here ends the rant ~
