Description
I was playing around with lens flares and came up with this. I really like the almost duotone feel to it. Very bright light and very dark shadows. Shows off the coldness of space. AND I didn't like the lens flare in the end, so didn't use it. PLEASE open up the full view. It's much bigger and shows off the bump mapping to greater effect.

Fantastic creation !

Very stark indeed, realistic in its appearance, just the right amount of light reflected from brightly illuminated areas onto the projections, the sensor masts and instruments elevated outward from the hull - and your eye for incredible detail. Really well done, 5+

Very interesting. I had originally viewed this on my Ipad and the contrast was quite extreme. Now that I'm viewing this on my regular machine, I can see much more detail. It's difficult for me to determine if I like the extreme contrast or this one. Both are nice! Space is a cold and harsh place. We (artists) usually add a lot of light which isn't there. This is an excellent render which shows off more of the reality of it.

It was originally very extreme. I turned the ambiance to zero. This is at around 10. Different displays will look different. I haven't calibrated mine for a while so it's probably darker on mine than most.

This looks great! A lot of space images have unrealistic lighting and shadows but this rocks - good starfield too!
