Description
..for our Picnic?
This is one of the stunning scenes by Howie Farkes made for Carrara (http://www.daz3d.com/maple-meadows). I love the scenes made by him, cause they give an ideal and realistic surrounding for Poserfigures. Unfortunately it uses a lot of time to render (about 6 hours with indirect lighting 3000 pixel wide) and the preview in Carrara is really sparsely. So it is pretty hard to tell the outcome of the render in advance and it is a (time consuming) gambling. That's why some parts of the character are a little faded. As well it's a bit a fiddling to get the characters imported properly. Though both, Carrara and DazStudio are from the same manufacturer, they do not work as good together as I would like. Dynamic Cloth get's screwed up completly and the morphs sometimes get strange (unpredictable bumps in the characters). The shaders need overworking and displacement maps get always lost and need to be reproduced in Carrara. Very fine details in the displacement map will not reproduce in Carrara and here too, it's hard to predict, what it would look in the final render. Anyway, once set up properly I always get surprised about the high render quality Carrara is able to deliver
Had to size it down from it's original 3000 pixels to 1800 just because of the filesizelimit here :-(

Good she doesn't wear a red riding hood. I wouldn't have the patience to wait 6 hours

Very beautiful landscape.

Thank's everybody! @illkirch: Me neither! :-) That's why i start such renders before I go to sleep and in the morning I check the finished render (reminds me a little bit on the times, when I had my good ol' Mac with 68030 processor at 33 MHz and the renders with the first release of Bryce) :-D

Great job!

Lovely place for a picnic - and a lovely companion too! To reduce some of the "gambling" you mentioned, try rendering a small preview to check lighting and overall look, that way you can be more sure that when you commit to a long render, it will come out looking great!

Love the image! The scene with the water, grass, flowers, sky is all perfect.
