Emily had always dreamed of being a model. Her goal was to become a top bikini model, and she had started off quite well on the path to her goal. She had been honored with winning the Miss Bermuda Tan pageant, then landing the cover of the spring cover of the Jupiter Swimwear catalog. She really thought she was on her way when she landed a year long contract for Goblin's Burger Barn. It was a rather coveted spot with national exposure with television and billboards. It also paid very well, and even included all you can eat for the length of the contract at any one of their chains for you and a guest. Emily didn't really care about the free food part at first, but didn't immediately understand why all the commercial spots and billboard photos were shot for the entire year within the first six weeks of the contract. Well, she didn't at first, but by the end of the contract she began to understand. You see, while she hadn't thought much of the free food at first, she quickly became obsessed with getting her free meals. In the beginning, she stopped once or twice a week to grab a single slider and a diet cola; but it soon led to two, then three; and before she knew it, she wasn't grabbing a slider and soda to go, she was sitting down ordering a bacon triple cheeseburger, fries and a monster shake. As the contracts end drew closer, she became more obsessed with getting as much as she could; not even realizing she was now having to wedge herself into and out of the booth as she had become almost unrecognizable as the model from the ads and billboards. The last day of her free indulgence was by far the worst. Completely embarrassing for her, yet she walking out in such an overstuffed grease and sugar induced stupor she didn't even realize that she waddled out like a pregnant woman days away from giving birth, and with grease stains, chocolate syrup, and whipped cream drizzled on her tight blouse and ample breasts. However, the eyeopening came when she had to make a push to even get into her car. She had stuffed herself to the point her clothing barely had any give left to allow her to move. With a final push came a mighty "speeerit" noise as the zipper on her pants gave up it grip, then it was swiftly followed with a pop, pop as a couple buttons shot off her blouse under the stress for her labored movement. It was only then when she managed to get in behind the steering wheel she asked herself what she had done. Morning came, as well as a certain amount of regret. She pulled herself out of her bed and waddled out to the living room only to notice the message light on her phone flashing. Much to her surprise, it was a call for a modeling job from the well respect Layn Brian catalog. Just days before she would have asked why they were calling her, she wasn't fat. The truth had hit her pretty hard the night before though, she was no longer some twig. She thought about the opportunity this might present, and realizing, she still wants to model, and that despite her new size, she still felt attractive too. She returned their call, went for the preliminary photo shoot, and much to her surprise landed the coveted cover of their summer catalog. Emily learned something from this experience. Even when you sometimes become sidetracked, there may always be the opportunity to reach your goals if you aren't to blind to the reality of who you are or have become. Never think that because the road you travel has many turns, it still can't take you home. The following year, Emily won the title of top plus-size model, and also became engaged. All things she'd never have expected that very moment she realized what she had done to herself with all you can eat burgers.
