Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

We have had them too recently. One of the local beaches was eroding, so they brought in huge trucks and dumped sand on it from another beach. The trucks were so big they could just drive through the water!

Mysterious!

I used to see these a lot at Virginia Beach; it was the only way for some people to get to their homes, but I do worry about beach wildlife getting run over...baby turtles and crabs etc. What lovely curving lines the tracks make in the sand!

I always enjoy your beach shots - so minimal but beautiful Well done.

Stellar lighting in this excellent panorama of the mysterious tracks, as they serpentine away into the distance, Marilyn.

I owe you more than a few comments (I don't get here as often as other galleries because I share my thoughts in letters to you, etc, but commenting in your gallery is still really important to me, so I'll try to get back here even during my break; you've been so terrific in my gallery, I don't want to not be here, despite anything I've written or said about your work personally). So a few shots this morning. This is another typical marilyn shot. It's simple enough, but the wide-angle of it, the stretch, and the fact that it's just tracks leading to your monumental ocean---but still remaining just 'tracks'---makes it small but huge at the same time. I love that you do things like this. I'd love to see a whole book of these from you. (Of a single subject, in other words.) The tracks don't seem to end, they just meld into the edge of the sand. A lot of fun, and so simple.

I like the sweeping tracks in the sand and the soft touch of postwork!
