Description

This is a small study piece from a photograph of my dear friend Janet, she lived in Leigh-on-Sea and we got to know each other online way back through a mutual friend, she was an avid collector of things and supported the arts and shared my passion in new age instrumental music. In the early 80's she suffered an aggressive cancer which required pioneering surgery at the time but she came through it with just a quarter of her stomach intact. Legacy of her chemo was blood vessels in her leg started to give her problems and her health started to decline again over a number of years, she died in 2006. Whilst preparing this piece to post on here I felt a need to turn on the TV and when I did this I noticed her favourite movie was on TV, it's so strange how things happen. She is greatly missed by her friends and family including myself and time moves fast yet there is such a thin line between life and death. Her passing triggered a massive period of grief for me where I lost a number of friends and family through illness or accident, it was a period when dark shadows came to visit and would not leave.
