Den Haag / The Hague Downtown area The heart of the city.. Carl Marx was here Spinoza and Descartes were.. too.. Spinoza (Baruch/Benedictus) found his last resting place here.. at this (former) Canal. Casanova had a hotel here in the 18th century, on the right were the modern City Hall now is. W.A. Mozart stayed here for months... and composed some symphonies... W. Churchill was here Roosevelt and other US presidents too.... Russian Czar Peter was here.. Kings, Emperors they all saw this place.. Fahrenheit too.. He too was burried in The Hague and has a little monument not far from this location Until 1866 it was a canal towards the Parlement buildings.. with hotels and cafes... So many things changed since 1866.. But the beautiful sunsets did not.. Spui - Den Haag.. 8 8 2013
