Description
Cades Cove loop road:
From early May until late September each year, the loop road is closed to motor vehicle traffic on Wednesday and Saturday mornings until 10:00 a.m. to allow bicyclists and pedestrians to enjoy the cove.
The 11-mile one way road, is a popular bicycling area. It provides bicyclists with excellent opportunities for wildlife viewing and touring 19th century homesites. And the occasional black bear sightings ... :)
Tony (Tball2004) you made the comment on my last post and said that in no way could you bike the loop around the cove and survive, well believe me the first time I tried it I thought I would never make it, but I just stopped a lot along the way and rest and take lots of photos. And have a snack I usually take some cucumber slices and a granola bar and a little bag of M & M's and water of course.
Oh the best part the little country store at the end sells some great ice cream, so I figure its a nice treat to my self for finishing. This last time though all I wanted to do was get back to my car and get out of the rain.

Excellent. I used to cycle at the very least 300 miles a week. The roads in London got so dangerous that I quit. But I am waiting to hear about moving to the countryside here in England where a bike will be a necessity.

Not only do we share a love of bike riding, your bike looks a lot like mine (a Giant Sedona). Nice collage!! I've done some 20 mile rides; the only thing that suffered was my poor behind; there's not a seat in the world that is soft enough for that distance!! (or if there is, PLEASE tell me!!)

A wonderful set of pictures it looks a lovely place for a hike. If I didn't know where they were taken I would have thought it was in the Chiltern Hills in Buckhamshire UK although your mountains look like they are much bigger close up
